The Quake II Repository is a site I have created to upload all the levels, mods, add-ons, editors, patches, skins, sounds, utilities... that the Quake II fans have been creating since the game was launched until actuallity. I take the decission to create this site, when I sadly saw that all the Quake II fan's modding creations have been disappearing in the internet theese last years and falling into oblivion.
Quake II was and is one of the greatest first person shooters made until now, and one of the most important masterpieces of id Software, being an icon of the id Software's golden era, and a reference as a game engine, helping the creation of another famous games, as SiN, Soldier of Fortune, Heretic II, Kingpin, Anachronox or the legendary and infamous Daikatana, among others. It was, also, in the end of the 90's, one of the most important online games were played and modded; and when its source code was publicy released in 2001, it continued growing in the next years thanks to the considerable number of freeware games wich were created, specially in the linux community; as for example, War§ow, UFO: Alien Invasion, CodeRED: Alien Arena or Thirty Flights of Loving. And if that weren't enough, Action Quake II mod, was also the honorable predecessor of the legendary Counter Strike.
Therefore, and because I love this fucking game, I have created this online depot to help everybody to find each file, level, mod and Quake II's fan stuff made to date. And the most important thing: everybody is welcome to send me your creations. If you wanna contribute, send me an email to thequake2repository@gmail.com with your Q2 files and I will upload them inmediatly in the blog. Enjoy the site!
